[For Sale] Maxxraxx discovery 4 bike carrier
For sale, maxxraxx discovery 4 bike carrier. Anyone who's looking for a good towbar mounted cycle carrier will know these are one of the best on the market. This also comes with the extra extension piece to allow you to tow a caravan while having 4 bikes on the rack. I used this on my D4 but will fit any car/jeep without a rear mounted spare wheel. Only selling as my new caravan has a Thule rack fitted on the rear. These cost roughly £210.00 when new and the extension pieces are about £40.
I'm after £100 or near offers, plus postage or you can collect if your near by. Also traveling over to carlisle from teeside most days at the mo so could meet up en route if that works for anyone
Thanks Roger

Hi Michael,
I've not got any of it fitted to my car as I've not removed the fixed towbar but I'm sure I can find one with quick google search. The bike rack tilts down to alloy access to the boot and this can be done when all the bikes are still fitted. I will find some shots and post them on here.
Thanks Roger

I have one. I can open both the top and bottom parts of the boot with it fitted. I've never tried / needed to tilt it for access. They are really good racks. I keep mine in the boot all the time so its always ready for when i want to escape for a ride.
I also have a Strada Atera but I only ever use that when I go to my French home I the summer. That also tilts out the way.
If it stops raining I'll try and takes some pictures.New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)

This is the only one I can find with it tilted down. It's not on a discovery but you get the idea.
I will find out the postage costs and let you know.
Cheers Roger

Moo, I think yours must be the type you can use with a rear spare wheel it seems to project much more from the rear of the boot. I'm sure when mine was fitted it had to be tilted to gain access to the boot space!? Rog

Yes you need to tilt it to open the tailgate. The original post shows the extender that you need to use when towing, it lifts the bikes above the A frame and you then use the straps to give extra support. They are a great rack that lets you tow and carry bikes as well as letting your dog out if you need. GLWTS.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
