My engine management light came on. I went to page 164 (if I remember correct) on the user manual and it says for petrol engines only.
My egr valves are already blanked (a whole back) and butterfly removed and patch done.
I haven't had time to use my iid tool yet as away but would love some info if anyone has experienced this before and what o may be looking at?Discovery 3 HSE 2007

Ok so I've plugged in my iid tool today and this message came up below. From what I've been told/thought once te egr valves have ben blanked off and the butterfly removed you won't ever have a problem with the egr valves again!
I reset all my faults and have driven my car for just over 10 miles today and no light came on again. What would you suggest? Is it safe to ignore and keep resetting the fault codes of it came up again or is there a diy fix to this?
Thanks.

I did have a similar issue and although my EGR had been blanked for over 3 years the car throw up a fault code that said we had an EGR fault I had a patch done by Steve Norman all good after that its strange that mine played up after all that time

Is it possible you or your garage overwrote the egr patch?

So after driving 22 miles since resetting the faults the light has come back on. Car drives as it should.
Any ideas and what I should do about it?

I've been had the EML came on on mine (had been blanked/patched for a while).
The cause was a faulty wire to the MAF sensor, so if it's been patched properly, you will still get the EML coming up for things other than the egr.
