Oh by the way, fixed the door....here is my process:
- Arrive at destination
- get out and close door
- open offside rear passenger door
- reach short arms and try and get to door lock with fingers
- manually lock door
- close passenger door
- lock car
- check that drivers door is locked
- walk away happy in the knowledge that car is locked

Ok quick update, drove to Bracknell today, so Disco left in car park all day (door manually locked) and when I returned 8+ hrs later, door licking back to normal
A day parked in occasional sunshine seems to have done the trick Iggy/Ieuan

Don't be fooled, the actuator is on it's way out, probably not been locking for a while and you've not noticed.It can when others can't,
