Wet footwell LHS.

Hi everyone,
I know there are lots of posts about this but none seem to answer my issue. Basically, my son's disco 3 passenger carpet is wet. It occurred when driving back from london with aircon on. The consatina black tube under one of the footwell trim panels is still connected (assuming that is the drain tube, near gear box tunnel ). Also, seemed to be dry around there. As there is no sunroof on this vehicle and it's been extremely dry, weather wise, water can only be associated with aircon. Where else could that water come from? My son tells me that water aas appearing to run down carpet over gearbox tunnel, appearing from under the remaining trim panel that i dont know how to remove!
Any thoughts?
finally, just to be sure, i did disconnect that black pipe and push wire down which possibly shifted some muck? This may have caused water to back up and leak at a joint somewhere ?

I think you are correct about it been blocked. The pipe has a one-way valve on the end that blocks up very easily. Once it's blocked, the water collects and overflows elsewhere.

Keep the pipe cleaned out, or even better try to find the end by the gearbox and clean it out thoroughly.

Thanks for your reply and thoughts. Will do that. Like i say, it couldn't really be anything else but wasn't sure what else was around that area.
Cheers . Bow down

I have exactly this problem at the moment, it hasn’t rained for weeks here and LHS footwell is wet all the time.

Can someone please explain how I find the tube to check if its connected and the other end near the gearbox to see if it is blocked.

If it's not rained for weeks, your problem could be air-con related.
I seem to recall there's a pipe somewhere behind the centre console that can cause the same wet footwell issue.

A search of the forum will reveal all. Thumbs Up

Yes, am sure it is the aircon pipes inside the car on the LHS, can anyone point me to where I can find instructions on how to access them.

Hi
The trim below the glove box, which also partly covers gearbox tunnel at footwell.
In the corner there is black concertina pipe - this is the air con drain tube i believe. There is a joint at that point. Pull joint apart. I then fed a piece of wire down the pipe towards bottom of vehicle to unblock and clear the pipe! Hope that helps.
