For sale: 2005 Discovery 3 V8 petrol, 50115 miles – NOT converted to run on LPG.
This Discovery 3 is in great shape, runs like a dream and pulls like a train. However our plans for it have changed, we already have two other cars and as such the Discovery is no longer required. Our loss, your gain
As you’re all probably aware, UK-market V8 Discovery 3’s are pretty rare, but a low mileage one that has never been converted to run on LPG is even rarer! IMHO the petrol Jaguar motor delivers better motorway experience than the stock 2.7 diesel, especially when accelerating round 60+. We bought this to be our main motorway cruiser, both here and Europe – and it worked admirably in that task, hauling 7 people plus luggage in comfort, in all sorts of weather.

Full service history since I’ve had it in 2015 (second owner) – previous owner had vehicle serviced exclusively at Land Rover in Portsmouth. I phoned up the dealership and the service department was kind enough to walk me through the entire service history of the vehicle. Previous owner serviced the Discovery even when the recommended mileage hadn’t been reached – in short, they looked after the Discovery very well.
They replaced under warranty two wheels/tyres early on, plus parking sensors, camshaft sensor and two compressors. The new compressor still has warranty on it until 2017 but works great.
Since I’ve had it, I’ve followed the recommended Land Rover service schedule, plus replaced brakes, rear lock/release mechanism and all 4 tyres – they still have lots of tread, plus replaced the under shield bolts. Also included is an additional Pirelli Scorpion (on top of included spare) – was left over from a tyre change.

But for info they made and sold just over 420 V8s in the U.K. With 374 still on the road in 2017.==================================

Me too plocker! mines upto 157000 now but still as smooth as silk, just shows what a good motor it is. 54 disco 3 4.4 v8 now gone

True... I think it is down to the fact that there aren't a lot about that are for sale, aren't modified and are still in decent shape, most likely the first part - not a whole lot come up for sale.
Mine was in excellent condition and had low miles - and the buyer was very familiar with the Jaguar motor and Land Rovers in general. I guess he wanted what he wanted, I felt exactly the same way when I traded my Defender for it a few years ago.
That being said... I already miss it
