Replacement for tailgate handle Torx bolts

Hello,

I've recently purchased a Discovery 4 and found that three of the Torx bolts fastening the tailgate handle to the tailgate are missing.

I've zoomed in on one of the missing bolts in the picture below:

Any idea what the part number of these bolts is or where I can get a similar replacement please?

I know that they are M8, the head is Torx (T30) and is 18mm in diameter.

Thanks Andy.

The one bolt that's left behind won't pull out and I'm reluctant to force the issue until I get at least one other in. Do you happen to remember the length of the flange bolts you used?

Regards,
Marvin

If the one that's left turns, the inner captive part will unscrew out of the handle itself, then allows you to take the handle off. I assume that you've already undone the three nuts that are behind the boot panel?

Chances are, that the plastic that retains the brass captive bits have also been stripped. You can refit them with a bit of araldite or similar, but need to make sure that it's dry and stuck before tightening up.

Hi Martin, they are M6 bolts 16mm. The inserts can also be set using a hot soldering iron held against the inserts, with downward pressure applied, they melt into the plastic to form a tight seal, job done. If you are anyway near GL11, I could,d always give you a hand. I may still have some inserts left if needed?

Regards
Andy

Hi,

I got the inserts you recommended Andy but they stood proud of the holes and I couldn't get the handle to sit flush with the panel. I got these instead:

The bolts worked great though!

Thanks for your help.

Kind regards,

I used this thread to fix mine too thanks guys. To all that are interested the genuine M6 screws are part number FYP106392

Did order some based on one of the above links but the heads are smaller. So fixed it and it won’t fall off but Ive ordered 4 genuine screws from my local main dealer and hope to pick them up tomorrow.
