Best way to mount an Engel?
Been seeing what I have to do to the D4 in case I decide to take her on summer jolly rather than the D3. In the D3 I have a load deck fitted (fridge bolts on to it) but it's not worth the hassle of fitting that for one trip.
So what do peeps do to mount an Engel or other fridge?
I've taken the middle row LHS seat out and dropped it onto some bits of wood to keep it level. Only down side is it's a bit wobbly and I can only strap it down at the rear of the fridge if I don't want to have a strap rubbing the seat leather. Just looking for ideas.

PS Can't fit it in the middle seat slot as might need to use the car as a campervan if I can't pitch due to weather.

Del, mine sits in the same place. I have a plywood base bolted down to the seat bolt holes, and then strap the fridge down to the base with a ratchet strap. The strap also passes through the rear seat catch so that the whole lot is securely held down.
The floor is uneven, so one end of the ply base is spaced on a bolt with two nuts.
If I can find a pic I'll load it later.Long succession of Disco's since 2001...

...not sure if it only fits the middle seat fixings but if it will fit the side seat fixings then I have a DisocStu special slidelock mount in the garage if you want to borrow it

Hmmmmm, I've got a slide lock base that I've never used, bit of ply and few screws & bolts and snip, snap bob's yer auntie. If my techie skills are up to it.
DG, unfortunately the centre bolt holes are in completely different layout to either side seats.
ps Got all the bits, just need to get a bit of ply that is 55cm x 30cm then we're in buisiness. Will see if that's something my local B&Q can do. The fridge will be held in the slidelock at each corner with help from a ratchet strap at the rear.
PPS Got ply in the shed that I can cut to size with the chop saw. Down side is SWMBO has banned me from doing it tonight.

You can buy some M8 eye bolts from Screwfix that will screw straight into the seat bolt holes. Then some strategically placed wood battens to give the fridge a level base, then a couple of ratchet straps to hold the fridge down.
That's what I did for Morocco trip

Now that's sounds like a nice easy plan. Ratcheted to two of them at the front and then to the securing bars at the rear. Simples.

Don't forget to get some M8 nuts and washers, so you can screw the nut onto the eye bolt first, to allow you to lock the eyebolt to the correct height.

Now you tell me!! Just ordered the bolts.
Just kidding, should have some M8 nuts & washers kicking around.
Mrs DSL thinks the eye bolt route is most excellent. I.e. Something I can't up.
Mine sits in a cage with a slider draw. Allows me to pack on top yet still access the beer.
