'Cheap' diagnostic service in Leeds area |
|
I have posted about the plumes of black smoke and the engine system fault warning that I am getting from my recently acquired 2006 Disco 3 and thank you for all your replies.
Just spoken to the garage I purchased it from and they have said, understandably, to bring it back to them. Trouble is it is a 150 mile round trip and I am pretty busy over the next few weeks. They did say I could take it to a local place to get it diagnosed but obviously that would incur an expense for me (which I didn't argue would they pay to be honest).
Obviously want to get this sorted quickly. I did try a cheap ODBII adaptor but that didn't find any codes. Does anyone know of a place around the Leeds, Wakefield, Castleford area that could do a proper diagnostic (autologic, faultmate or whatever) and wouldn't charge a fortune. And what would it cost to do?

Try Fourx4 - Barrack Street Leeds
They are the ones to trust around here
Economical
Capable.
Right opposite the "new" main J/LR dealers BREXIT - done properly.

I had exactly the same fault on my recently accuired D3.
It turned out to be a split in the hose on the intercooler, if you stand in front of the car it's the big hose on the left of the engine.
Might be worth your while checking that.

Thanks for the link.
I'd considered buying something I can take a swift look at for my D3, FL2 & possibly XK.
I do very little maintenance or repair by myself currently.
OK I have to depend on others at cost. BREXIT - done properly.
