| D3 HSE 09 plate blanking the EGR VALVE |

Sorry to start another thread.
My brother has a D3 HSE model 09 plate.
He is wanting to blank off the EGR Valves but he has been told he can't on his.
The 10th number on the VIN is greater than six.
I've read a few threads which say it can be done but then he would have to get a software patch........
Any help would be appreciated. Does anyone do the software in the north east of England

I think that you'll find that BAS (Bell Auto Services) is your man. If he can supply to Australia, he can supply to NE England. 
He has a tremendous reputation on this forum.

I had an 09 plate with 9 on the VIN. Blanked EGRs caused the EML to come on after every 2nd or 3rd restart. I applied the software patch from BAS with my IID tool and all was good. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Bodsy (forum member) blanked the EGRs and updated the software on my '09 HSE a few months ago - not had a single issue or warning light since. Very reasonable costs, and a nice chap to boot! I can recommend his services!

You can't blank the egr's on cars fitted with a dpf.
But since no UK spec D3's had a dpf, you should be fine with a BAS software patch.
Mine is a slighly earlier car, but still a Euro 4 spec and has had the work done. No problems to report at all. New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

how easy is it to do a software patch for the EGR valves on an 09 plate D3

Simple. Just make sure you have a separate supply connected for the process. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
