How do I remove....?
Hi All
After putting a nice dent in the DS rear door of my Disco on its first real off road outing some two years ago, I've finally got my hands on a reasonably priced replacement. Only problem is wrong colour. I've sprayed a few cars and panels before and prep is always the key.
So far I have been able to remove everything.....bar the vertical black metal trim panel next to the glass that separates the front and rear doors. I've pushed, pulled and prodded, but it seems like a once only fit. I can't see how to remove it without putting a crease in this metal trim.
Now I could just leave it, tape it up, and paint around it. Trouble with this is that you will be able to see the colour change right at the top when the trim stops. It'll be one of those things that no one else ever notices but I will always see it and it will bug the crap out of me.
Anyway, any ideas on how to remove it? I have a spare door to test on first (ie the damaged one) to make sure I get it right.
Regards
Scott

God, not more double sided tape. I'm going to need shares in 3M to put the door back together. If you do have one, any chance you can take a pic or give me some details on the location of the tape...? If I can't get one off nicely, I'll have to purchase a replacement.
