Occassional Stalling b4 picking up

Hello All,

My D3 stalls and drags on take-off for the past two days. It takes a while to gather power to accelerate normally. It was horrible joining a round-about this morning as it almost refused to pick up on time.

Any idea what could be wrong please?

I went to a local Mechanic who listened to the engine yesterday and dismissed me that the engine sounds okay but it's obvious something is wrong.

EGR down.
Does it feels very under powered and really pathetic on inclines until you rev it? Mods:
Front Fogs + Halos
FBH Remote Control
The 1st Ever RRS Modded Grill
Garmin Nuvi + D4 Surround + Reversing Camera.
D4 Steering Wheel.
Rear Boot Spoiler.
Twin Brake Lights.
Wing Mirror Indicator Repeaters.
Long Roof Rails
Make your own Narpy grill thread

Sounds like EGR symptoms I had with mine.

Yes it does and I had to rev beyond normal then it drags and eventually takes off.
Not good for joining fast traffic.

When it does pick up. do you get any black smoke?

No, no black smoke at all but the computer has been showing 11.5mpg for the past two months

I allowed my fuel to run into red before filling up and the issue started the following day- Not sure if it's got something to do with that.

On your model, blank them off, that's all you need to do. Wink Mods:

Before splashing out, get the codes read to confirm the diagnosis but from what you say, it looks favourite. Thumbs Up Mods:

The blanking kit arrived today with colored instruction. Fixing it wasn't that bad. it took me 2.5 hours to fix.
The car now flies like a bird. Very Happy Very Happy

Have I done a proper EGR delete?

Reading through this forum made me realise there may be a need to remove the butterfly valve but
Nothing of such was mentioned on the instruction I got from my EGR delete kit supplier .

Is this an important aspect of the delete and have I just fooled myself thinking I've DIY a proper EGR delete?
