Yep, combined with data via three & 3DK. Works brilliantly.

I've been giving the LR system a try over the last week/4000 miles or so and it is total pants, both from a user point of view (setting destinations etc) and an actual routing point of view. On the Autobahns it loves to take you off and on at the same exit, it does massive detours to avoid what it thinks is a major delay (adding far longer than the delay), and to top it all one of the routing options from N Sweden was via Leningrad (never did like it's new name), with no limiting preferences set. It will pick nonsensical routes that are a lot longer, then when you force it to rethink by ignoring it the system then tries to get you back to where you left its route, not best way to the destination. When you type stuff in, your left hand covers the light sensor so the screen goes dark, what idiot thought that was a good place to put the sensor?

Yep, it's seriously rubbish. Thumbs Up

Goog maps on iPhone up nice and high, with sound routed over Bluetooth on hifi, works a treat. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

That sounds like the original MY10/11 SatNav, that was pants, but the later version MY13 update I paid for is considerably better - although it does still pick up delays on the other side of the road when driving on the continent Confused
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I've just subscribed to the RTTI service on the BMW (Ran out last month) £35 a year and it is very good - about 10minutes delay to the information, rather than 2hours or so with standard free one.

Also having a data sim built in is very handy when you want to find something local - like a kwik fit when I had a tyre let go at 5:15 on the A14 - so it googles it and tells you the destination and phone number Thumbs Up

Google maps has been brill today, apart from when in Germany where the telecom operators three use (o2 DE and E-plus) are seriously crap. You'd think Germany would have good mobile networks but not that I've seen.

Some pretty hefty traffic jams today, especially heading up the A7 towards Denmark. If the owner of the black D4 pulling a caravan (AF62 something or other) is on here, you have my sympathies as you still had about 20 miles of stationary jams to get in to the Danish border.

Anyway, rants over. Eclectic scoff tonight. I thought the shrimp things were crayfish but the were shaped crab stick, which were OK. Burger was massive, but dry as a bone. Chips were nice and vino is getting there.

Early start tomorrow to get round Hamburg before the Hamburgers (is that right?) come out to play, then down to Coquelles and home. Well that's the plan anyway. Hopefully a nice uneventful end to a bit of a nightmare of RT17. Thumbs Up

Right, keep the racket down, just going to watch I Robot. Thumbs Up

There was bottles at €2.19 but I tend to avoid vino with the word "basic" in there. Bottle's almost finished, will sleep well tonight. And it will be dark!! Woooooohoooooo. Laughing

All red wine tastes fine after the third glass Laughing

Or my favourite trick for cheap red plonk is to give it a good shake before opening and then pour it between two glasses (or paper cups) before drinking to really aeriate it Thumbs Up

Should be home in about 18 hours, can't wait. Thumbs Up
