so true and they keep looking nice for years when painted with hammerite well but it takes fecking ages to clean them before applying paint

It dosn't matter which colour, it's the impression it gives, i.e. "that chap looks after his vehicles and dosn't let them rust away!".
Two years or more since I mine with Hammerite and the paint is still good although brake dust has toned the colour down a bit It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Ive found if you dont use acid based alloy wheel cleaner the brake callipers stay their goldish colour for ages.
