sorted ... very nice chap by the name of Flack spent the morning here today 
I'm a few bob lighter but I now have 4x4 info display and can use my phone by shouting at the car, on top of a service.
my warranty company said they only put "vat registered" in the documentation to try to make owners use "reputable" garages but admitted over the phone it's not enforceable ... and when I said Flack came highly recommended from folks on here, they were more than happy.

What warranty company do you use? That VAT exemption has stopped me using Flack or others previously  D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

The issue comes with repairs, they need to be done by a VAT registered garage, so the warranty co. can claim the VAT element back My D3 Build Thread

Hi - just joined having bought a used D3. It's in need of its cam belt and a service and it looks like Flack is coming highly recommended on this forum. I can't PM as I'm a new member so was wondering if anyone could put me in touch with him?
