Idiot question about tyre wear

Just looked at my tyres and the fronts are looking more worn than the rears. Is this normal? Running scorpion Zeros currently on 23,000 miles.

Fronts take a lot more load on corners/rounabouts/braking they will always wear quicker.

A couple of people I have spoken to recently have mentioned Avons and Nexens. I am not sure about the Nexens but what are peoples opinions of Avons?

If neither of those are any good do people have any other suggestions?

I am using the Verde but need tyres that are all season. Wear rate has been decent so far

I've just had Goodyear Wrangler HP All Weather tyres fitted, they replaced knackered Dunlop Grandtreks and there is now zero road noise, the difference is incredible. Decent price, look ok. No idea on wear but online reviews suggest 20k plus might be possible.

Not sure if this is off topic, but I will ask anyway...

Just had a new pair of Scorpion P Zeros fitted at ATS, before fitting the guy tells me that there will be more than 4mm difference between the tread depth on the new front tyres versus the part worn rears. This means there will be a risk of diff or gearbox damage and the tyres will only be fitted if I sign a disclaimer.

Has anyone else come across this comment, or is it a sales scam to make me buy more tyres ?

I though that only applied if they were fitted on the same axle ?

That was my thought too.

Having replaced the front and rear tyres at different intervals throughout my life, I have never experienced a diff or gearbox blowing up as a result.

Diffs tend to break when the wheels come back down to earth whist spinning in my experience of off roading classic range rovers !!
