Curiosity got the better of me as to why our D3 had a big ugly disc on the dash and a mic on the A pillar (as it has factory PTI). After a bit of exploration I found these were connected to a module on top of the head unit which is a Smart Nav Uk badged unit from the same year as manufacture.
Pressing the TM button that is also connected it would appear I need to get it activated.
Question is then - is it worth it, or shall I just decommission it?
