How, first post, bought my first D3 2 weeks ago with good service history, belts changed etc (loving it btw).
Currently changing oil pump and fluid top ups due in a week.
In the meantime, can anyone help in a rough diagnosis?
Driving along, everything fine but when I release the accelerator, a slight screech/squeak can be heard for a brief half second (windows down)... any clues?
2005, 2.7 D3, Auto, 125k
Thanks

Search for torque convertor noise, the noise is more pronounced when running along buildings or parked cars at lowish speeds and coming off the throttle, mines been like it for 2.5 yrs now, gearbox man told me even new t/cs can make the same noise so i chose to ignore it

Mine makes exactly the same sound - if you let off the accelerator at between 1k - 1.5k. Now I've noticed it I always hear it, it drives me mad on some town drives! 2007 Black Discovery 3 HSE TDV6 - Fully loaded. Extended roof rails, EGR blanks, side steps, Grabber ATs.
2013 Red Fiat 500S - Completely standard... (the Mrs' car)

I have same noise too! No other issues, as suggested it's probably TC.
Mines going in for oil pump next week, and have asked Indy to investigate - will let you know their thoughts.....

Mine does the same, only noticed it about 6 months back, but could have been going on for longer/ever. Has anybody replaced a TC (presumably for other reasons) and found the noise disappeared?

Nose is still there, though no worse... Anyone get to the bottom of it?

My Indy agreed it's probably TC and it's "a Disco noise", nothing untoward.
Mines been making the sound for a year now, not getting any worse so ignore it now..

I've had the same for a couple of years, I understand it's the torque converter
