I am looking at buying a 14my HSE with full service history 50k miles, checking the service receipts (not main agent) the oil that has been used is only described as "semi-synthetic", no brand name.
What are peeps thoughts? - can it have done any permanent damage as I and others on the site are very particular about what oil we use. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

just googled "semi-synthetic c1" and it pulled up a list ... so i'd say it's OK.
check the detail of the Ford spec ... if it says only synthetic i'd take it back and get them to change it.
likelihood of damage must be negligible.

Pretty sure there is no semi-synth C1 spec oil
The semi-synths that Google brings up are listed for the Citroen C1 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

Hi,
If it was just the last service and it was not long ago?
If everything else seems good with the car, buy it and change the oil & filter yourself, you know what is in it then
Although it may make you wonder what else they have used for service items ?

oops ... now I've looked on PC I think you are right it's for the Citroen. even the hits it has for WSS-M2C934-B oils were synthetic and not semi when I dug down into the details.

Thanks for your thoughts guys including "oilman", a cheeky phone call to the garage that has done the servicing solved the delema, the invoices are a standard format for all services and just quantities are put in, the oil is in fact Mobile Helix Proffesional full synthetic C3, they service several vehicles including commercials and are all booked to the same account It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
