Morning everyone,
Can anyone confirm whether 35/30/35 seats from a 7-seater will bolt straight up inside a 5-seater?
My irish commercial D3 (i.e. ex 5-seater) is soon getting converted to private. Found a set of 35/30/35's at a good price. Just want to know if they'll be a straight fit or not!
Thanks for any help Dennis

I'd be almost certain that the holes are there, they've a slightly different layout and you'll need to modify/replace the carpet.
I've no direct experience of this swap, but I do know that the holes are on the 5 seater for the additional 6th and 7th seats so I'd confidently wager that it's the same for the upgraded bench....if it's on springs tho' it might be a problem to put in all 7 seats (if that's the final plan)

Thanks for that. After trawling this forum and beyond for more info I did conclude that the holes are most probably there. So I can go ahead with ordering the seats confidently.
Carpet is no problem as it's already missing with the commercial load bed in place of the middle row seats. I'm sure I can improvise something to replace the carpet.
It's on air suspension but in any case, I will not be putting in the 6th and 7th seats. That is the dog's territory. I just need the 3rd-5th seats in there as this thing will start serving as a family car for the final few years of it's venerable life. It is at that point in life where it's not worth that much, but is still such a comfortable, trusty, reliable and capable vehicle that it would be a pity to stop owning it right now. Dennis

Was it commercialised down to a 2 seater previously??
If so, just check the seat and seatbelt mounts haven't been 'Permanently' disabled before you buy those seats!
Often they had to either, fill the holes with a metal epoxy putty (which I believe can be reversed with some careful drilling and tapping out). Otherwise, they welded them up.....a real headache...
Hopefully it's neither case and you should be fine!!

It's an Irish conversion. They happened to be big fans of that tough black sealer type substance. The floor pan seat holes are filled with it too but I haven't check the seat belt mounts. The black sealer is quite a pain to totally remove, but it's easy to drill and tap so shouldn't pose much of a challenge.
I believe they got a bit more aggressive with their disabling technique in later years, but mine is an early 2006 model so hopefully should be fine. Thanks for the heads up though Dennis
