Karcher Window Vacuum - are they really any good - advice?
http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/ka...ies-321351
Seems good and will be -15% this weekend on top of offer price of £54.29 if the piece of paper that came through the door is true.
But are they really any good or is it just another gadget that I could live without?
Any practical advice appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

We have one and use it on windows and shower cubicle and it is good, removes the water/condensation and leaves a clean window. Think they are over priced and do not take much water before the collection tank is full.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

They're pretty good actually, doing a good job with normal stuff when scraping from top to bottom or side-to-side......but It struggles with heavy condensation......
It would be good if you could use it from bottom to top,but the water sprays out the air vent when it's upside down.Wife takes the worst of heavy condensation off first with a microfibre, which seems to me to be defeating the object of the excercise
That one comes with the interchangeable smaller scraper head, which we don't have and would be useful.
Good battery life though, and all-in-all probably worth having....."Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold, sadly, thanks for the memories)
1966 '88 Series 2a....still starts in the morning better than I do...
But get the very lowest price you can get & forget the more expensive one that has two attachments, the spray bottle etc
You'll use just the narrower squeegee in reality.
The do work well on domestic windows & shower cubicles etc.
Use on your vehicles is a distinct bonus.....easier than drying towels or chamois leathers & save a whole bunch of time say if you are washing & waxing.
I find mine useful in sucking dirty water off the soft top of the Jag...it work better than rinsing & rinsing for this worth buying on its own as it gets the soft top vey clean & gets rid of tree sap etc (the worst that can get onto a soft top)
If here are any faults:
1) the battery doesn't last that long - if you have a lot of windows to do it may conk out & they don't charge that fast at all opportunity charging ( a few mins her & a few mins there doesn't seem to work & the batteries are sealed in.
2) when the tank is getting full - the vac does suffer if you don't have it anything other than vertical- cured by letting water out regularly
Initially when launched they were well overpriced - so shop around - ASDA often undercuts everybody, Amazon are cute in pitching price at the same or fractionally lower. Shop around. currys are usually the most costly.
Quite well made.BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

I treated SWMBO tyo one last year, sort of a half hearted joke, and she loves it. As the other have said, its great for shower cubicles, windows etc. I went for the basic model, the one without all the extras. It gives her more time to pamper me......Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.

+ 1 - spray unit is carp.
Better off with just a wet, soapy toweling cloth. You can get the windows done in no time and streak free !!
