Apart from becoming more and more like  Facebook everyday with completely inappropriate FB stylee 'postings' it has also become more like a directory inquiries.
I know a 'foot in the door' approach will apply depending on the company you work for but the amount of cr@p I get is becoming wearing.
Today i got the 'invite invitation' from another random starting with the preposterous "I'm reaching out to see....."
They then go on to try and sell me print products/solutions and 'invite' me to redirect them to the right person if it's not in my remit.
One second reading my profile would indicate it's "not in my remit" you moron 
Yes I'm ill and under the weather so really grumpy

I get loads of crap from recruitment companies.
Gets very annoying at times but a curt and succinct response normally shuts them up.
Why I would be interested in off ashore diving jobs as an electrician is beyond me...
Working in telecoms I get random requests from people in India wanting to know if I'd be interested working in a call centre but apparently my name is not quite English enough so may have to use David or Robert instead...
And as for private security work in Mogadishu, right off!!! De-Tango

I entirely agree with you with regard to LinkedIn - I got an invitation from someone I have never heard of who is a hospital administrator in Canada.

I occasionally consider just dumping LinkedIn. Mostly recruitment people. I get emails telling me that there are 5000 jobs in the area perfect for me. Everything from hotel manager to lorry mechanic. I guess there's a suitable job somewhere in that range... Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Nigel - Thanks, just a dose of food poisoning (lost 9lbs since Saturday, hoping for another 9lb and I'll be set for my wedding in August ) but somehow seem to have got a very tickly cough with it that is as frustrating as hell............
I haven't 'used' LinkedIn for a good few years, I actually did 'network' on it way back and made useful contacts.
Now it has people advertising their cars for sale or propagating chain-mail messages or, seemingly the new-thing, posting some sycophantic post about a manager in the same company espousing how wonderful a person they are or, even worse, what a wonderful job and how happy they are, euuugh
We now also have it at work and are 'encouraged' to use it, confuses me as get requests from people on work platform but they're on my 'private' one but don't see that I have two accounts or anything.
Doing, or rather being seen doing, all this 'soshal meedja' stuff now seems more important than doing your job
Yep still not feeling well, another 'Dyrolite' (tastes like Ribena made with sea-water....  ) or probably a Berocca in Lemonade is much nicer

I take nothing to do with Facebook, twitter and whatever social media stuff. People seem shocked when I say I'm not on it.
