IIDTool CCF update Fail
Last week I registered my IIDTool and turned on the timed climate screen
All went well, no issues with the update.
Yesterday I wanted to turn off the locking chirp which was turned on by the previous owner. An easy update I thought....
All looked to be going fine, but in the final moments the IIDTool came up with an update failed message...not an issue I thought, I can just reflash. However the car would not start and there were lots of faults showing (I presumed from the software update failure).
I was a bit lost at this point, so locked up the car off and went for a walk to clear my head, while secretly panicking I had broken my car!
Upon returning to the car I checked for faults which were still there (obviuosly) and the car still wouldn't start. Eventually my IT training kicked in, and I restored the backup from my initial connection of the IIDTool. This restored the car to working order clearing all the faults and allowing the car to start, but removed the timed climate screen, although funnily enough the locking chirp has gone.
I have not had the courage to turn the timed climate back on yet. Need to ensure I am following best practice, but will probably have a go next week.
Can you save multiple backups on the IIDTool, or is there a way to save backups on a PC? As I change things I would like to back up the settings but want to keep the original settings just in case of a major failure as I have just encountered.

I'm not sure what IID you have and they have a varying degree of internal memory. My IID Pro can take snapshots of every vehicle CCF it talks to and can save these backup files to my PC - I do this for all forum member's vehicles that I tweak.
