used my spare wheel and parking sensors don't work

I used my spare wheel for just 1 day and my parking sensor (at the back) didn't work while the spare weel was not fitted under my disco 3. After 1 day when the spare wheel was mounted back on his place the rear parking sensors still are not working. When I put my car in reverse there is a beep for 5 sec. and than nothing at all and there is no message on the dashboard.
Do I need to reset something?? Can any one help me? Never had problems with the sensor system before....

thanks in advantage

Hans

It's possible you've disturbed the rear loom in dropping the spare which has revealed an issue with corrosion of the rear PDC loom. Or it could just be coincidence.

Do the "click test" - you'll find the details on here with a search if you don't know how - but you'll probably end up taking the rear bumper off whatever happens. Don't be surprised if the rear PDC loom is in a sorry state....

thanks MikeO for you advise.

But what happened just the day after I posted my message: it still didn't work when I drove my Disco backwards out of the garage. I did the clicktest and nothing worked. Then I pushed the button for a period of 10 secs and I drove the car back and frontwards and suddenly.......it worked again perfectly!!!! Maybe I did an unknown 'reset' of the system....I really don't know but it works fine now.

Thank you that you wanted to help me with advise!!
