Low RPM intermittent vibrate

Good morning all, just signed up so this is my first post! Go easy on me Wink.

Ive recently started using my D3 for towing a trailer (up to 3.5 tonnes), and since doing so (approx 3 months ago) I've noticed a vibration steadily getting worse paired with a slight rise in the RPM which only happens between 1400-1800RPM. If I change down a gear the vibration disappears, which is down to the change in RPM it seems.

The vibration is hard to place and doesn't vibrate any part of the vehicle in particular, i'm stumped as to what might be causing it, if it was just a vibration then that may be easier to trace but the rise in RPM as it's doing so is peculiar to me. I always use cruise control, so this slight change in RPM isn't down to my right foot.

I took a video, sorry, my passenger took a video of the tachometer as this was happening, if you turn up the volume you can hear the vibration slightly as the RPM rises marginally.

(Don't know how to embed sorry)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you fill in your profile, the help will be more "customised" to your car. e.g. manual auto

I did fill that out when registering, not sure why it hasn't come up.

It's a 2008 2.7tdv6 XS. Auto box.

That's a good shout! I guess the added strain the torque converter is under whilst towing a heavy load would cause that play/vibration....? It's done 115k miles.
Thanks ja92mie.
