Retro fit auto dim rear view mirror |
|
Forgive me if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find a thread by searching. I've got an auto dimming rear view mirror (with built in compass) from my previous car and want to fit it to the D3. The windscreen mounting point is OK - all I need is power. Does anyone know if the wiring is in place in the headlining, and if it is, where I can access it. Thanks

I found a couple of connectors behind the light panel, and 1 of them had a switched 12v (came on with ignition) which is all I needed. Now have a nice electro-chromatic mirror in my S model.

I bought a mk3 mondeo auto dim mirror and it fits the early S models perfectly (tombstone type mount as apposed to the circular one). Just not sure what wires are what in the headlining I have one 3-way and one 4-way taped up. I'm sure I know what's what on the mirror itself from the mondeo forum but would be great if anyone had a wiring diagram covering this. But I'll be out with the multimetre later on and hopefully get to the bottom of it. I'd imagine a +'ve, a -'ve, a reverse light feed. Which would make it the 3-way.
