10% renewal increase, nothing's changed

Just had my renewal, from £760 to £840. I thought to myself, ah it's just the old renewal trick, they're trying their luck
Had a look on comparison sites and they're even more than the new renewal price.

Nothing has changed, another year's no claims, I don't know how they can justify increasing it
Obviously I have to just suck it up and pay it, mad isn't it Big Cry

Things have changed - this time last year the insurance premium tax (IPT) stood at 9.5% but since then it has increased to 10%.

Furthermore if you have a June renewal the tax rate increases to the new 12% Thumbs Up

Ahh thanks guys.

I'll threaten to leave and give it a go but probably just pay it anyway. All these hikes in rates due to people getting run over and stuff Whistle

Just called and told them that the comparison sites were cheaper.

I gave them a fictional quote and funnily enough they 'worked really hard but managed to beat it' by £1.

Another year done Rolling Eyes

Ive just had the annual Insurance saga... and got to say its barking.

Last year paid £633 for on my 64 HSE and the wifes 200bhp Clio Cup.

Last week got the renewal at £828. Phoned them up and instantly got £80 off to £750...

Though ok - that's better and more realistic as last years premium covered a R Line Treg for 4 months before I switched back to another disco.

Anyway - advised them about a plate change - nothing fancy just a 6 digit with HSE at the end.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Shocked Insurance went from £520 for the disco to £1000 and bringing the grand total to £1250. Told them to poke it.

Phoned around the big houses and got the multi car quote back down to £750.

Current insurer then called me up yesterday and said "Sorry sir - system error - number plate change will have no effect on premium".

So come back to full circle and back down to £750 with the original big house...

What a par larva Yawn

Now to tackle my energy bills Shocked
 Last of the D4 HSE...

We have been with LV for years for both car. Last year I changed D3 for D4 Landmark rang up to change cover, sorry sir but we will not cover your new car😳 After long wait. Sorry we don't cover cars of that value with out Tracker fitted 😤 Shopped around, AA cheaper happy days, this year £300 more?? A lot of company wouldn't quote 😳 Seams more wanted Tracker fitted. AA came down a bit but not much, now gone with A Plan about same as last years 👍

You were lucky. Most insurance companies within seconds can trace quotes done via comparison sites. I know, I quoted a genuine comparison price to them and they were able to look at the quote. Rolling Eyes
