If you do opt to have them blanked, maybe PM Bodsy (forum sponsor). I think he's nearest to you.

Just confirming MikeOs post, they can be blanked.
Had my 09 EGRs blanked by Geoff about 15 months back and a BAS software patch applied at the time. No problems since and no EML light.

okay will do.
One final question, will doing this improve the fuel effeiciency too?. Is it all connected to the same issue?

Should give better performance - mine did
Also had Mass Air flow sensor replaced as this gavecengine fault light & crawl home mode....luvkybit wasn't far 5mph....no hills....bit of an issue in Yorkshire.
Currently hovering about 25mpg with SWMBO'd driving.
I've almost 120k miles on the clock....it's like a sewing machine....I use 2stroke oil too BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Hi Guys,
Problem is still not sorted. Booked in on 5th June
He thinks its an issue with Turbo. Turbo hasnt gone but there is something that can affect it.
EGR has been checked and he said they are fine.

What I've noticed though is the car crawls until you get to above 2 revs then it will suddenly shoot off giving out black smoke once and then you drive normally.
Then when you go back below the 2 revs it all happens again.
Still no warning lights in dash and none when garage guy plugged in.

Hi Guys,
Just thought Id update you all. Car has been in garage since last Monday trying to find what is the cause of lack of power.
Finally been told today that the Turbo has gone. So need new turbo.
Everything else had been checked, turbo Arm? EGR etc
So the body of the car has to come off. Anyone out with experience of having this done. The sound of it is scarying me

The body does NOT have to come off; see these threads:-
www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic150084.htm
http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic136259.html
If however you decide to take the body off search here for a list of other jobs to consider doing when the body is off, maybe start here:-

Still nothing repaired. Warranty won't approve 2k mechanic cost. Said it can be done in 1k. Told car dealer to do it now. So left with him.
If there is anyone local to west midlands who can do please message me. I would really appreciate.
