HELP! :( D3 doesn't start anymore suddenly + faulty handbre |
|
Hi guys,
Spend the afternoon cleaning my D3 and wanted to take her for a spin, but all of a sudden she won't start anymore...
When turning the ignition I hear rapid ticking (startermotor?) but nothing else. All of a sudden I also get the faulty handbreak message on the dash.
What the heck is going on...
Please help...

I suspect the battery is discharged enough to not start. Did you have doors open etc for longish periods,
when you were cleaning it ? That is enough to cause this problem. Charge battery, and see if ok then. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Half an hour is probably enough to discharge!

I'm sure I've read on here it takes something like 12 hours of constant running with no other heavy electrical loads to fully re-charge the battery via the alternator.
Best thing to do is get it charged properly overnight.
