Car has just ticked over 72k, and I knew a few things needed addressed. Most especially a couple of nasty vibrations which had developed ....so today she was treated to...
2 new front wheel bearings
New rear prop shaft and bearing
New front brake discs and pads
New rear rose joint/bush
Reversing sensors/camera repaired (chaffed wire)
And a 4 Wheel alignment...
Car drives like new, and feels a lot more positive at the front....
Pretty big bill, but in fairness most of any previous work has been done under warranty, and it's the first decent amount I've had to shell out....
On the plus side, I was sure I needed a new lower steering arm, but it was fine "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
Locking rear E-diff
RLD spare wheel protector & sump guard
Extended roof rails
Series 111 mudflaps
Black side tubes,grill and vents
Timed climate remote
Hids4u interior lights
D4 Firenze my2012 HSE
D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold, sadly, thanks for the memories)
1966 '88 Series 2a....still starts in the morning better than I do...

What do you reckon the biggest contributor to the vibrations were Euan? Mines on 73 k and has got an annoying vibration, most noticeable when coasting on little throttle on smooth surface at about 65 mph.
It's been doing it for ages and never got to the bottom of it. It's not tyres, lower front arms or alignment as they have all been changed.
Mines in shop next week for front brake judder and u/s rear tailgate switch.

Like you, I knew it wasn't tyres, alignment or lower arms (replaced about 18months ago) so I asked them to have a look elsewhere....they were convinced it was the prop shaft, and I agreed to the change.....the car was transformed on the drive on the way home, with all vibrations gone....it's difficult to completely put that down to the prop shaft, as the wheel bearings were definitely contributing, but with them all done it's a vast improvement.
If I was you, I'd get them to have a look at the prop shaft when it's in
By the way, I thought I had another set of warped discs recently, but on inspection I noticed I had lost a couple of wheel weights, which was only showing up under braking.....getting the wheels balanced again sorted it "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

TBH I'm sick of the brakes on the car. The disks it has now are a diy fit of oem disks from af.
They already replaced them foc when the first set started juddering after about 5k miles. The replacements have done exactly the same after 5k!
I am confident of my abilities, so have decided to send it in to have the brakes done again, and any potential contributing issues found. Gut feeling is it may have sticking calipers, although not been aware of any over heating.

Gareth- that sounds identical to brake problems I had with my 15 plate. Several disc and pad changes and new hubs, under warranty didn't fix it. I ended up rejecting it, which was painless once I got LR Finance on the case. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

It's going in this week to independent service centre to see what's happening. Ultimately, I can't reject, I just want it fixed. Hopefully they can find an underlying cause of the brake judder, and the Warranty Direct can help me with the bill.

I sympathise with you, it's very frustrating. Changing calipers would be the logical thing to do next, although like you I wasn't able to detect that either one was ever sticking.
Although they were changed, I still think the source of the problem was the hubs. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
