EPB new cable rather than module replace?

The drivers side (o/s) end has broken off my handbrake cable that pulls on the shoes in the disc.

Anyone experience of these:

Are they hard to fit? Am I better getting the full module? Does the module need removing from the car to fit?

They are fiddly to do you would be better if you could remove it from the car or at least free it from the bracket/support to get better access to it Thumbs Up Discovery 3 se gone
Range rover sport supercharged here:)

Hi how did the change out go as I have a broken drivers side rear cable also on a 2007 HSE model and am not sure of the process to change out.
