Hi All,
Just collected my first D3 TDV6 (late 2008), and so far very impressed with the drive.
But the car has an issue with the build in sat nav: the satnav screen is stuck/frozen and I can't select anything on the touch screen.
The touch screen does work on the 4wd info and tv functions, so it is just the sat nav.
There is no moving arrow or gps signal either.
Are there any solutions for this?

Have a look on here under the wiki banner for doing a hard reset first to see if it sorts it out or if bought from dealer then take it back and let them sort it out  Discovery 3 se gone

how do you update the inbuilt NAV on these D3s?
I presume it must be via CD loaded into the front of the HU?
I have a 2007 D3 and the nav is poor to say the least, so I thought I might as well try and update it before it gives up completely!

Nav cd unit is under passenger seat, Iirc seat has to be fully forward to gain access to it.
You might have a copy disc fitted as they can cause issues.

The d3 satnav is waste of time! Mine has got the latest 2012 update and it's not fit for purpose! D3 x2 now gone

We have a Freelander as well and the nav is so rubbish compared to TOMTOM, amazing how a company as big as LR can make it so unhelpful when using it!

I have a 2016 disc from elsewhere and it is still pants compared to the likes of tom tom and the rest Discovery 3 se gone

Compared to what's available to buy right now it isn't the best...
But the 2012 disc did alter a lot
I've gone some huge quite complex journeys though & its got me there:
Morzine - Avoriaz
Verona...
Florence..
Nuremberg...
on the continent it comes alive with lots of data about delays, accidents & borders.
Plus it works off voice.
Just sad it wasn't updated BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

The hard reset didn't work, it turned out to be a faulty dvd reader.
All sorted now
