Hi folks,
I need your help.
I have installed the climate contol (ATC) unit to my base spec s-model. Now I want to connect the sensors and need to build my own wiring loom since I can´t get a original one.
Can you give me some help finding out which wire is belonging to which sensor. I have uploaded a wiring diagram and pics of the sensors, both temp / humidity sensor and sun light sensor showing the side with the pins to my gallery. http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=3887.
It is easy to find out that pin # 2 of 3 is the center one but which is #1 ?
HELP please
Thank you in advance Hedgehog

Hi Hedgehog,
I've done this to our 2005 D3 5-Seater basic, so should be able to help. I'll send you a PM.
Regards,

Yes it's not for the faint of heart.
That's why we decided on a HSE when we got the D4, I just didn't want to do it all again
You will need to buy the sensors and a replacement HVAC control unit for the dash.

that s what I thought.
I believe it doesnt worth the effort and money. I thought buying the unit and modifying the loom would be ok but if I have to buy sensors I ll have to reconsider that.
I'll keep using my left hand as an automatic climate control ...
I was just wondering as I 'm heading to the balkans to Turkey. It will be very out there... and don't really want to spend my time managing the A/C manually.
cheers

Kikos
since i was abroad I am just now able to answer. If you are lucky then your temp sensor (on a LHD right side of steering wheel behind that little grille) is installed, (mine was) but mostly the wiring from the hevac -module is missing. The sun light sensor is installed right of the centre speaker grill on dash. Looks like a dome. If not there than there is a flat cover. The sensors are not expensive. But you definitely need the hevac-module and have to change or modify the wiring. It is not that difficult if you make your thought in advance and take your time. I wasn´t able to get the harness nor even the connector so I had to modify the original one by inserting the missing pins. I didn´t opt for individual left and right temp control since that would mean to also disassembly the heater/ac box and add the second motor for the flaps. If you need further information let me know.
Cheers

Hi Hedgehog ,
I have read the different diagrams and looks like feasible
the temperature sensor has 2pins
- one connected to the HEVAC
- one to the 5V from the HEVAC
the light sensor has 3 pins
- one left side to the HEVAC
- one right side to the HEVAC
- one 5V from the HEVAC
which pin is the 5V ???
I believe I need to run a cable from each sensor to the HEVAC directly. are wires already there ?
I need to find the 2 sensors.
Is the lightsensor very useful ?
(only managing a constant temperature would be great for me)
I probably need one side of the light sensor as my car has only one motor (no independant motor to manage left/right)
I dont need a second motor , using just one for both is fine.
am I missing something ???
Thanks a lot you re diagram helped me a lot.
