Advice on Repair costs - Replacement radio amp

Hi guys,

I'm currently speaking to a chap that's looking to sell me a 2006 Disco 3 HSE. He's advised that the car has 2 known electrical faults:

1. Radio amp needs replaced
2. Rear sensors are intermittent

I'd like advice from anyone in the know as to ballpark figures on the repair bill to fix both issues, as this will be the basis for the negotiation on price! I'm aware that's not much info to go on (esp on the sensors) but it's all i have.

I'm happy to do the work myself - but i'm a novice, only capable of following pretty straightforward instructions!

Appreciate any advice!

The amp is just plug and play, plenty 2nd hand ones about however interested to know if its confirmed that is deffo the amp thats faulty, the entire audio system is all interconnected, make sure it just needs the amp changing and not something else.
What amp is dependant on the audio system fitted

I've replaced one of the rear parking sensors recently on mine - was straightforward enough. Just have to remove the rear bumper moulding (took me 20 minutes and i'm no mechanic).

Sensor was £80 for a new one but i've seen them for £15 / £20 on ebay from breakers if you wanted to chance a second hand one.

Correctly identifying the broken sensor is the key though... If you put the car in reverse (with the ignition on and engine off) you can actually hear them 'clicking' if you stick your ear up against them. In my case, one was noticeably silent compared to the rest. Then it's just plug and play.

The clicking thing only works if the system has not shut down. Most of the sensor failures I have had cause an alam and cease of function. Only once was I able to hear them working.
