That's what both the autobox peeps at Hailsham and Bristol Transmission suggested. Trying to work out logistics of getting to BT for them to have a look.

Just been out with the car now empty and it did the same vibration at the same place at the same speed/conditions. So not just coz I was heavily laden on long haul and test run yesterday.
Another symptom that seems to have come back is "over-revving" a bit on change up when cold. When changing up a gear the revs will go up slightly (bit more than slightly, like 2-300 rpm, when heavy) then down to where they should be with new higher gear. Once warmed in it doesn't do it.

It can be taxing. Though depends on which one feels like playing on any particular day.

Hailsham sorted out my TC several years ago. Geoff there was very patient doing the diagnosis. Then a few years later, after I had done a fluid change and managed to slightly underfill they sorted it out for just the cost of half a litre of fluid. It you get a chance to look around the sister company next door that rebuilds TC's its time well spent and shows that traditional engineering still exists.2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Looks more and more like I'll need to get the autobox refurbed. Flaring now worse.
I've got her booked in with Geoff at Gearbox Automotive Specialists in Hailsham http://www.autogearboxes.co.uk/ but just thought I'd see what other options I have. Anyone else know of specialists in the SE that have a good reputation with these boxes? Happy travelling to Hailsham but just covering my bases.
Also if a TC was fitted to a box 18k miles ago that now looks like the box needs refurbed can that TC be fitted in a refurbed box?
Had a think about fitting a new box but for £2.1k - £2.5k compared with £4 - £4.5k for a new box that's not an option. That's prob not far off what the car is worth.
Any recommendations/advice out there?

DSL, have you thought of contacting Bristol Transmtions and sounding them out. I had problems with a transfer box they fitted and mileage wise, it was out of warranty (but within 12 months) and they fitted another completely free, i have found their after sales first class.
Andi.

Been toying with that, was going to give them a call on Monday again. Problem is if they are just going to say "you need to get the gearbox rebuilt, sir, and that'll be £2,500 + VAT" then I'd rather go somewhere a lot more convenient. It'll be 17 months and 19k miles since fitting.
Cost will depend on whether the TC can be put into a refurbed rest of box. Or has that been trashed because the rest of the box was knackered?
