Thermostat issue?
All,
2006 LR3 HSE V8 with 223k kms.
Today I smelled coolant. Expansion tank is empty and there is some leaking coolant on the fan cowling in front of the thermostat. No heat in the cabin. Temperature gauge is normal.
I am thinking the thermostat is bad. And a bad thermostat gasket.
Any suggestions?

I'd be getting the covers off and out of the way, and looking for a cracked pipe union somewhere. I'm sure someone with V8 knowledge will help, but there are threads on here covering the problem.

It was a t-fitting right under the plastic cover. It had become corroded. Quickly sorted. Changed out the coolant at the same time.ikonw8
