Oil leak low front end ,,,oil cooler feed ????

Morning chaps
Seem to have a minor oil leak from the union in the photo
Any clues lads ,is it a cooler feed
Definitely engine oil
My LR service history has a note to check intercooler hose as possible leak which would have been straight above the feed pipe but that's clean and dry

Any help please
Phil

That small plastic pipe ?

You don't have and age/model/engine on your profile.

If it's a 2.7
These either carry orange coolant or diesel

so if your getting black oil, it could be running from elsewhere

Thats a "snap on" type connector, they push in to one another, usually for liquids like fuel or coolant would not have thought it was for oil

Yes bud
It must be just the point where it's congregating just can't seem to find the cause
When I took the upper fan cowl off to look down at the cooling rads there is a small patch on the bottom corner of the long narrow bottom rad but I think it's been blown there as when I cleaned it off all seemed ok
Have to let it develop I guess
It's in for a service in 2 weeks so I will ask the tech to have a look
I did see a post on the net a while back with a similar leak but can't find it now
It's not a lot but enough to notice
Phil

as you say it's common for them to form oil at the bottom of the rad on the drivers side.

There is a small plastic guard in the wheel arch which reveals the IC and large hose connection.

It's always good to remove this hose, let the oil drain out, and then refit the hose tightly.

Agree
That's the photo taken with the cowl off Pete
I cleaned it last October when I did an oil change and I noticed it at that point
Done about 2k since and it's about the same coated the cowl inner
Who knows

Just to update the thread guys
When I was doing my checks before going down the Cornwall I had another look at the leak
I did manage a couple of turns on the intercooler hose clip and it has cured it ,,,,,,,,,,for now Thumbs Up
