Park Brake: Service Mode and Fuse at Disco 4?
Hi,
I have done my park brake at my Disco 4 (MY 2010) a several times including the unjam procedure for the squeeling module. No problem and as I am used to it now a quick job for my Disco 4 as I own a faultmate which can activate the service mode for the EPB. Thanks to @Bodsys and @Disco_Mikey for their excellent help and information with the brake bible and the unjam thread!
Last weekend I assisted a friend to repair his squeeling module and change discs and park brake pads: But he has only an IID Tool and this has no Service Mode option as I can see. The D3 procedure described at Bodsys Brake Bible for the Service Mode is not working.... We used the embedding mode instead (brings the module to the end position).
This looked like this:
All I can find in the net is about how the D3 service mode works. And as I can state, there are some differences at the D4/LR4 for service mode and also the fuse is another.
So questions here are:
1) How to manually enable Service Mode at the Disco 4 /LR4?
2) Is it possible to use the embedding mode instead?
2) As I can see, the fuse for the EPB is F9 (!) behind the glove box for the D4. Correct?
Would be glad, if we can get these points a little bit clearer - probably it may be included in the new version of the Bodsys brake bible.
Greetings from Germany
Jürgen
PS: We made some videos and photos to clarify the working procedure of the EPB module, I putted them in the unjam thread here.Discovery 4/LR4 HSE 5.0 V8 MY2010 // Volvo XC60 II T8 Inscription Fusion Red MY2020 // Hyundai Kona Electric Trend MY2020 // Bürstner TravelVan 620G MY2020
The IID has a service mode for the EPB. Cant remember which menu option its under, probably "Service" though.

He has only got an Iid tool indeed, it only the best tool on the market for LRs.
Have you got the latest software installed on the Iiid?- it is certainly on mine It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I took a look at the IID manual - for the Discovery (L319) it seems to be in the Control I/O section. Will check this.
But for people without an IID Tool I am still searching for a manual possibility. Discovery 4/LR4 HSE 5.0 V8 MY2010 // Volvo XC60 II T8 Inscription Fusion Red MY2020 // Hyundai Kona Electric Trend MY2020 // Bürstner TravelVan 620G MY2020
