ARB

Hi Dave.
I live down under and have had ARB's finest on previous vehicle. I drive in the High Country but haven't gone Outback. As such to tackle the extremes of off road you really don't need a Bull Bar. A winch is useful but a Tirfor hand winch will cover more than 99% of most people's needs. I try not to run into Roos or other wildlife though I hit a roo Easter Saturday night with no apparent damage to vehicle! They look great but unless you're likely to encounter large wildlife at high speed, not absolutely necessary even here in roo land. It adds a lot of weight to front and in these modern times, doesn't make the vehicle especially attractive. There are plenty of ways of adding aerials, driving lights etc which dont require all that extra weight.
My D4 unmodified is a superior vehicle offroad without all the rugged add ons that my fully modified (ARB bar and side rails, lift etc) Nissan Patrol ever was. On road, Nissan left for dead.
Even the Safari Snorkel seems redundant now, and I have had the pleasure of driving in rivers over the top of the bonnet.
I'm going to wait to see what is developed but will be very choosy on what is actually needed to get me and my family through some extremely hostile environments a (relatively) short drive from home.
If you ever get the chance, Victoria has amazing off road driving.
Look up Blue Rag Range track, or Billy Goat Bluff. Done both. Truly awesome.
Enjoy your vehicle. We do.
