D4 3.0 TDV - Windscreen Vin Plate

D4 3.0 TDV - Windscreen Vin Plate

Hi there

I have recently purchased a 59 plate D4 3.0 TDV which has just had a new windscreen fitted.

The screen has just been replaced and there is now no vin plate showing in the horizontal viewing window which sits under the windscreen wiper.

Took it into LR dealer today and they have advised that the wrong screen had been fitted and I should have a vertical window on the screen, and the vin plate is in the pilliar.

Does anyone have a D4 3.0 TDV that can confirm where the vin plate and window should be ?

Was asked when I had a new screen fitted where the Vin No was located so they could bring the correct screen. Didn't stop them trying it on though

My MY10 3ltr TDV6 has a Horizontal VIN viewing window whereas SWMBOs MY16 3ltr SDV6 has a Vertical VIN viewing window. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Was it definitly there before you had the screen replaced? Can you see it when you look down the back of the dash?

More importantly have you checked the numbers on the reg document match the engine? I think the vin is also elsewhere on the body/chassis, not sure where though.

I would be mildly concerned until I'd verified the numbers are correct.

Yes number in the chassis matches the vc5 doc.

Will let you all know the outcome when the glass technician has been round on Friday.

Yes, 2010 is a 3.0 TDV6
