Question regarding clock spring

Hi, recently purchased my first Disco 3, and loving it to bits.
After seeing a few this was the best I could find for the money, and looks (touch wood) like its been looked after. Its a 2005, so understand that things may need replacing over the coming months.

The first thing on the list is the clock spring. Having looked on Flea bay I see there are quite a few different versions? I'd rather not strip the car to get the part number.

Can anybody confirm (or post a linky to the part needed?)

Thanks v much.

Sometimes I just need somebody to help me lever the cash out of my hand!
Ordered OEM part this morning from LR. No point in doing the job twice.
Thanks

Is there a problem that requires the clock spring replacement or are you doing it to eliminate other things

Question:
What model is your D3 ?
If it's an HSE with steering wheel buttons for horn, cruise, phone, radio & voice etc.....as the spring dies all these functions fail / get mixed up.....can be embarrassing as horn usually sticks on.

If all you've got on your steering wheel works ?....if "yes" .....leave it alone.

There'll be other things coming along that you'll need the funds for !
I've learnt you don't have to look for faults on a D3 - they have the uncanny ability to find you.

If put your model / year data in
Then:
Ask & do some searches - specific important "must do's" will appear
 BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.
Founder: Dipsticks-R-Us Inc
D3 HSE-perfectly formed, passenger friendly...has real DIPSTICK
Jag XK-but sadly no DIPSTICK...HUGE design fault
FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Hi thanks for your worring post :/

It's a 2005 SE with buttons on the wheel. Phone, volume control, cruise, etc
I noticed on after picking it up the cruise control was not working.
Then one evening noticed the illuminated lights would come on and off, depending on the angle of the steering wheel.

From my research, everything pointed to the clock spring.
Picked one up from the dealer, just not had time to get it fitted yet.
