| Won't Engage into Low & Transmission Limited Errors |

Hi all,
I recently purchased a 2007 TDV6 SE A and it has a couple of errors! Firstly, 'LO' wont engage. I have checked the tan 5amp fuse, and have worked the lever back and forth in neutral, but it just wont engage/illuminate. Could this be a fault with the switch? No errors or lights on the dash.
Secondly, I notice, if I accelerate hard on the motorway slipway I intermittently see 'transmission fault, limited gears available' errors. The only way to remove this is to turn the engine off and back on again.
Are these typical faults? What should I look at first?
