| Sluggish pulling away - EGR issue? |

So 2 months in to ownership and it seems the true essence of Disco3 ownership is coming to light...
The car was fine on my way to work this morning (about a 10 mile journey) but then no power below 3k revs on the way home and then after a quick stop and restart, the engine management light is on. Im guessing this is an EGR valve issue - my question is, the car is booked in for a precautionary oil pump replacement next Thursday but the garage cannot get it in before then, will I be okay up to that time? And secondly, how badly are they going to bend me over if I provide some EGR blanks?

Maybe an hours labour at most so don't accept any more, It's undoing 4 bolts and fiddling with the butterfly. The master Geoff did mine in about half an hour.

EGR Issue, I was in Cambs yesterday. On your year, yoiu will need the SW update to stop the EML coming on after its blanked. Done quite a few this week and another one tomorrow! Bodsys Brake Bible

With regards to the SW update, what is the best solution for that?

I can do a software update and remove the blanks for you. Or just the software if you prefer to do the egr yourself. Bodsys Brake Bible

EGR blanks arrived this morning so I am going to fit them tonight. All going well, I'll send you over a PM later this evening to talk about the SW part.

good luck. I've seen a few vids on youtube on how to replace them but as mine have no issues (been replaced a while ago) I won't change/blank

So after a bit of a traumatic start (if you think you're going to sneeze, don't start trying to put a small bolt in a smaller hole...
I spent a good hour and a half with a small handed friend trying to find the EGR blank, washer and bolt in the engine bay.
The blanks are now all fitted and so far so so good. Fingera crossed its sorted now.
And I little FYI, if you're stupid enough to make the same mistake as me and lower the car to work on it, a wine cork fits perfectly in the valve for long enough to start the engine and raise the car... 2007 Black Discovery 3 HSE TDV6 - Fully loaded. IF I ever do it again, that's exactly what I'll do.
Had a 140 mile round trip today and it was great. It even felt smoother than before. 2007 Black Discovery 3 HSE TDV6 - Fully loaded. Extended roof rails, EGR blanks, side steps, Grabber ATs.
