Windscreen Washer - works, but not as it should

Coming from the LR2, I realised something was not quite right with this setup.

When pushing the button on the end of the washer stalk, the headlight washer and rear washer comes on, NOT the front washer.

Then when pulling the stalk (x2) towards the wheel, the front washer sprays, NOT the rear.

I have just realised I think the problem is a swopped pipe somewhere.... (always helps when you actually verbalise the issue)

Now, where would I potentially locate said pipes to swop back around?

TIA

Pulling the stalk towards you should operate the front screen washers. Pushing the button on the end of the stalk should operate the rear washer. The headlamp washers should only operate when the headlamps are on and will operate on every 5th operation of the screen washer.

Hope that helps Thumbs Up

There are two pumps, the one does the front and rear ( two outlets) and the other the headlamps, one larger outlet.

So this video is incorrect?

How does it make sense to spray the headlight and rear window only and not wiping the front?

Seriously design flaw maybe?

The confusion is that the way the washers and wipers operate changed at MY12, so for your MY10, the video is correct. Do the headlamp washers ever operate when using the front screen washers? If they operate without the headlamps being on, then you've got a fault somewhere.

Yes, headlamp washers do work, when lights are on. As far as I have checked.

So from MY2012 on, you have to pull the stalk towards you, which operates the back wiper, but doesn't spray water?

To spray the front, you pull the stalk towards you again, but it doesn't activate the wipers?

Not quite! MY12 onwards, pull the stalk towards you to operate the front screen wash/wipe cycle. The wipers operate whilst the washers operate. Press the button at the end of the stalk to operate the rear wash/wipe cycle.

Thanks for the clarity Dudley.

Is it a safe assumption then that the issue is electronic or is it physical? I mean, is it possible that the pipes are reconnected incorrectly and that the hose can be swopped around?

2010 LR4 acting like the MY12 or newer

I have a NAS LR4 (rebadged as a Discovry 4, (the marketing people forgot to ask me before making the whole LR thing over here) that is a daily driver for my wife.

Point is, that it acts as described above for the MY12 or newer, which is opposite of my 07 LR3 (also rebadged) drives me crazy.
