Disco 3 suspension fault.

Morning folks.

For the last couple of months the suspension amber warning light comes on after a couple of miles, when the car was first started you could raise and lover the suspension. Obviously after amber light no function. Came out thismorn to find the disco looking rather mean crouched down on her hunless. As soon as Istarted her up the amber warning light came, so unable to raise her up. Initially I thought a compressor repair kit would do the job, but now I'm thinking perhaps a little more.

Any thought's or advice greatly welcome.

Regards Kenny

By not having the suspension warning fixed when it first appeared, it sounds like you may have killed the compressor

That said, it needs the fault codes read off it first, otherwise its all just guesswork...

Thanks Mikey.

Saying the compressor may be dead! Can it be repaired with a repair kit? Or am I better looking for a new unit?

Cheers

Kenny

It does depend in what way it has failed.

For long term reliability, fit an AMK upgrade Thumbs Up

Thank's again Mikey.

What is involved with the AMK upgrade, Is it a simple plug and play, or is there more to it?
ie. I remap and additional part's?

Cheers

Up date folks, still having problems. Stripped out the suspension compressor thismorn, tested it on the bench with a battery, compressor ran fine, hooked it back onto it's electrical connection, ignition on, compressor wouldn't run. Checked all fuses and noticed the 60amp box style fuse had blown, so replaced temporarily with one of the other fuses that sit alongside, still no joy, done the very same procedure with the relays, still no joy! 🤔 Can't get it hooked up for diagnostic untill next week. Anyone any suggestions, please!!!!

Cheers

hi

don't know if it's any help , but have u checked the 3 x connectors at the front passenger wheel arch

possibly loose wire earthing out , causing the blown fuse ????

checked what volts u have at the compressor electric connector ,

alas though need those codes as well, Thumbs Up

Cheers Mate, that's a good shout, I had some electrical issues a couple of month's back and the garage said the issue was under one of the wheel arches. I will have a quick look, drivers side or passenger?

If the fuse has blown, it's very likely the motor has overheated, and will need a new compressor...

Have you checked the relay in the fuse box for the compressor. As you have mentioned that you bench tested the motor and ran fine but not running when hooked into the disco. Could be relay has fried internally.
