Transfer case ECU change, new or used?
Hi all,
I have a D3 TDV6 2005 with a series of errors and it appears to be a wet and burned transfer case ECU NNW502932.
I have searched the forum for this but could not find a good answer, can I switch to a used ECU or must it be a new one?
I have an MSV Nano so I can download software if needed.
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a Disco breaker for spare one?Dave
D3 2006 HSE, Cairns Blue - gone
D4 2016 SE, White
You can fit a second hand one but you will get vin mismatch error.

I have found a number of used ECU for sale here, so thats no problem.
Flack you mean it will work with a used it's just that it will show the wrong VIN?

Ok here comes an update.
I've tested a used ecu that had the same number NNW502932 and everything seam to work, the only thing is an error code that says wrong VIN.
Does anyone know how it works with a new ECU, does it write the VIN number by itself?
Regards

You order a new one for your vin number, and when it is first powered on the vin is a one time write and is coded for your vin number, as far as I can remember.
