Yep, a warranty is the thing to go for. They are complicated beasts and not cheap to put right. In early D4s the XS was always very popular, being a good compromise between toys and price, which is why there's a good few about. It looks like that reasoning is holding up today as well with your choice.
The extras with the HSE are nice. The seats are definitely better, but does anyone really miss those diddy arm rests when you've got the cubby box in the middle and the arm rest on the door? As for electrically powered seats, well that's okay, but how often do you adjust them anyway? And with global warming, we'll all be wanting chilled steering wheels instead of heated.

We were in the same boat, eventually went for the XS and we got the 2 yr warranty, gives a little peace of mind the wife loves it.

I purchased the xs and I’ve since fitted electric seats due to the actual position you can put them in compared to manual seats and on long journeys it makes a hole lot of difference, but their are plenty of seats up for sale at the right money they are plug and play and to change over the fabric if needed it’s easy enough, hope this helps
