Rhino bars on D4

Hi,

I'm looking at buying these Rhino roof bars. I asked them if they fit the D4 with the factory fitted roof rails, but their answer ("It only fits vehicles with T Track") was a little ambiguous.

As far as I'm concerned the factory roof rails are "t-track" but I might be wrong. Can anyone confirm the Rhino roof bars fit the factory rails..?

cheers

They look like they may be the version that fits, but pay a little extra for the Thule bar, as they are theft resistant but these just aren't (very easily removed by anyone with a spanner, with no keys required).

Imagine someone making off with your new bars and everything that's attached to them! Evil or Very Mad

Thanks for the reply.

I don't plan on leaving them on, they are only to fetch sheets of 8x4 plywood from the timber merchants. I'll just fit them for the specific trip.

I assume the Thule ones fit the T-Track then..? I have other Thule stuff, so could get the keys matched I suppose.

Cheers

I always took it that "T track" was the grooved channel on the bars (covered over by the rubber strip).
Allowing fitment of various accessories to the roof bars.

However I'm increasingly seeing that "T track" is being used to describe the flush fitting roof rails (per the D3/D4) versus the raised type roof rails (per the FL2).

Unless I've picked it up wrong. Confused

Yes, the Thule ones can be specified to fit the T Track. The pair that I use currently were picked up on eBay, used but in perfectly good order, for £50!

The rails on my D4 (MY12 HSE) are raised and do look like t-track. There is no rubber insert. I guess the raised rails were an addition on certain specifications..?

My post is referring to the T track & rubbers strips being in the cross bars, not the roof rails.
