My 18 year old just had his 1st 'prang' & New mini
Oh dear,
Somebody tried to side swipe him on a roundabout, so he had to take evasive action, then forgot to look forward until it was too late, ended up hitting the back of a car
Thankfully he's ok, a bit shaken and really upset as he was 2 months short of his full no claims as well as him hurting his mini!

New wing, bumper and a few other things - need to see what the other driver wants to do first (Hopefully avoid insurance companies!)
Very minor damage to the car in front, I think just a new rear bumper - but ringing them tonight for a discussion
I guess we've all been through it Iggy/Ieuan

Ouch!!!
a) it happened to us all (generally)
b) nobody was hurt
c) its an easy repair on a car able to be repaired fairly easily
Hope the other car owner is reasonable, unfortunately in this "where there's blame there's a claim" culture people are almost spooked into "going through the insurance"........
Hope the knock on effect (no pun intended) on insurance premiums isn't too bad. Just console yourself that less than a year is better than just getting to two years NCB as you 'go back 2 years' usually for a bump so earlier is better in some respects?

Ouch but glad he's ok.
It happens to all of us especially as newbies to driving.
Awesome first car though! I had one in cream for a few years and loved it.

Let he who has not sinned an all that
If the lad went into back of someone else - suspect insurance co. will deem as his 'fault'?
Possibly cheaper settling directly if other car hardly touched?
Shame. Feel sorry for him but metal/plastic and be repaired alot more easily than he could, so thats the main thing - he's unhurt. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

That's nothing, I exited a bus station that is quite tight with my 50ft tri axle coach and took an illegally parked Range Rover Evoque with me

Happened to my lad a month before his first years no claim bonus, the driver of the other vehicle did not stop despite damage and Police told him not to report it to insurance as they suspected he was either not insured or drunk. They never came forward and all Mark lost was his car but his bosses brought it off him so all ok in the endMY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Called him tonight and he's already called the insurance company, as although damage is small he can't be without his car.
Such is life, so Jack's insurance now informed and it's in their hands now
Here's the damage to other car:

Bloke also informed me his neck is hurting
Worse thing though is that Jack had a passenger, his friend...who has since rang Jack and said "my mum says I can claim cash for this"
What is wrong with society today? Iggy/Ieuan

Glad everyone is ok, cars can always be fixed.
Just be careful if you don't go through your insurance.
As the other party were hit in the rear they could come back for personal injuries in the future.
If you haven't notified your insurers at the time they are unlikely to accept the claim.
This could leave you with a big bill that you will be liable for.D4 2016 Landmark, Waitomo Grey.
D3 2005 HSE, Bonatti Grey, now sold but still comes back for servicing.
Defender 2002 Td5 Commercial, had a hard life but slowly being restored.
I only work so I can afford to repair my Land Rovers!
