I agree it's a real shame when what could be fixed relatively easily is written off.

Well at last an update, repairs have just been authorised on the mini, so all going through the insurance and he gets a courtesy car
Out of interest I asked them what the repair quote was and he said £2351.65 in VAT
me repair companies certainly make their money!
But the good news of course that they felt the mini was worth saving, i'm really surprised that they didn't write it off though
Anyway, hopefully will be back on the road in a few weeks Iggy/Ieuan

Yes makes me angry too. Like you say everyone's on the make. The small dent in that Yaris, and slight damage to the front of the Mini, how the hell can he have sore neck!

ok another update!
As they began to remove parts, they found quite a poor repair job by the previous owner And had to write another repair report, which resulted in the repair quote being £4300
I went and spoke to the repair place and had a good look at the mini - scared a bit by what I saw.
Anyway to cut a long story short, insurance company wrote it off as would not financially viable to repair
We didn't want to scrap it, but didn't have the time to repair it as son needed a car......so we've cut a deal with a mate of his, so the mini will return tot he road hopefully next year
Insurance company paid out and...........going on a road trip to Peterborough tomorrow
Updates tomorrow with something new (to us) on the back of Woody's borrowed trailed
All ready for tomorrow - big thanks to Woody32 for the trailer loan - I think we could fit 2 on there

2011 D4 XS - OBD port protection, RLD spare wheel protector, All LED interiors lights, Timed Climate enabled, iiD tool paired.
2011 D4 Landmark - Stolen from same dealer before I paid for it

Sorry to read the final out come. Glad that she won't be going to scrap though. I would have had her as you know I am very fond of it. But glad she will be rebuilt and back on the road.
