Is the tailgate handle covered by aftermarket Warranty?

My top tailgate is intermittently refusing to open with the handle switch. I have to use the keyfob to get it open. It probably needs a new micro switch or something.

I have
Luxury Care with Warranty Direct, with main dealer rates. Is it likely to be rejected as it a door handle which is excluded in the t&c ?

I'm debating if it's worth sending it to dealer to be fixed, by the time I've paid the £100 excess would it be worth it? Or am I better off diy?

Would it (the switch) be classed as part of the electrical system? Then it's not in the list.

These seem to deteriorate...

Even without being pressure washed.....
Don't know the terms of your AM warranty...
But do they supply parts for you to DIY ?

From me experiences it's all geared to "dealer decide - dealer fit"

10 minute fix even if the moulded-in fixings goosed.

Mine got a big blast of RS supplied electric switch proofer inside before bolting up..
We use this in our plant (very wet area - with lots of push button machine controls).
I wonder if it's the fact the filament bulbs warm the enclosure up it draws moisture in & does the damage ?
Different world with most LED OEM & retrofit bulb fittings.
 BREXIT - done properly.

Its got Warranty Direct Luxury care, actually the excess would be £50, I forgot they put 50 per side when I claimed the front wishbones.

On the basis that it will get a wash, and I might be able to wangle a courtesy car I might as well let the dealer have it. Thumbs Up

Will give WD a call.
